REDARC SBI12 Smart Start SBI Dual Battery Isolator 12V 100A

$199.00

Charge your auxiliary battery while you drive without risking a flat start battery. The REDARC Smart Start SBI12 is a microprocessor-controlled isolator that works as a solenoid priority system in a dual battery setup. It protects your start battery from excessive discharge and lets the auxiliary battery supply your non-essential loads.

Key features:

  • 100A continuous rating, 12V system: suited to 4WDs, commercial vehicles and campers
  • Protects the start battery: isolates the two batteries so accessories can’t drain the battery you need to start the vehicle
  • Smart switching: connects the batteries when the vehicle is charging (around 13.2V) and disconnects them when the engine stops, with built-in turn-on and turn-off delays to prevent false switching
  • Better than a diode isolator: avoids the voltage drop of diode-type isolation, so your auxiliary battery charges more fully
  • Override wire for start assist: connect a switch (sold separately) to manually join the batteries and jump-start a flat start battery
  • Fault detection and LED indication: connect an LED (not included) in the cab to warn you of voltage drops, over-voltage and excessive current draw
  • Power saving technology: very low standby current draw
  • Silver contacts: longer life, suitable for marine applications
  • Fully surge protected, overmould design: sealed construction in a compact 80 x 75 x 63mm body, easy to mount in a tight engine bay
  • 2 year warranty

Ideal for: Dual battery setups in 4WDs, utes, trucks and commercial vehicles with a standard or temperature-compensating alternator.

Fuses, cable and connectors sold separately. REDARC recommends fusing the input and output at 100A, so pair with a matching 100A fuse kit. Not suited to vehicles with a smart (variable-voltage) alternator, where a DC-DC charger is the better choice.
