A complete 60A fuse kit for protecting a DC-DC charger installation. The LV Automotive LV9821 includes two AMI fuse holders, so you can fuse both the input and the output of the charger. It also comes with the fuses and cable lugs to finish the job.
What’s included:
- 2 x AMI fuse holders: bolt-down holders for AMI (MIDI) style fuses, one for the charger input and one for the output
- 4 x 60A fuses: two to fit and two spares
- 4 x cable lugs: for terminating your cable
Why fuse the input and the output?
A DC-DC charger is connected to two batteries, so each side needs its own protection. A fuse on the input protects the cable run from the vehicle’s starting battery or alternator, and a fuse on the output protects the cable run to the auxiliary battery. If either cable shorts, the fuse on that side blows before the cable overheats.
Ideal for: Higher-output DC-DC charger and dual battery installs in 4WDs, utes, camper trailers and caravans where the charger calls for 60A fusing.
Always confirm the fuse rating your charger requires, and use correctly sized cable. Cable is sold separately.
